A wedding to remember..
It was a warm Monday.. 13th March 2006.. but its a special day.. coz its my cousin's wedding.. wats so special about a cousin's wedding you may ask.but wats special about this wedding is not that I am excetionally close to this cousin, but coz we are only a year apart yet we have never talk much other than the past year when discussing about weddings and helping her with some small details during her wedding preps then did we become closer..can you imagine.. for the past year.. i probably have talked to her more than for the past 28 years of my life.. so anyway.. the venue was at Oriental Ballroom - another reason to get me all excited as this is also my first time attending a wedding at the Oriental.. and i heard from Kelly that after the renovations, they have become a 6 star hotel and of course it is a dinner worth going to.. I went there with my dad and when we reached there at 7.30pm.. the ballroom is already filled with guests.. and most of my relatives are already there.. one look at my cousin. and there is really only one word to describe her.. STUNNING.. she look drop dead gorgeous with her dreamy tube wedding gown.. I didnt have the chance to go up to her to extend my congratulations to her..instead i loiter around the reception area which was a big and exclusive area.. the ballroom was opened at about 15 mins later and it was indeed a unique shape.. of a fan..the oriental logo i guess.. so there was lots of gossip and news to be updated between the uncles and aunties who probably are the happiest since this is the only time that they are able to gather together.. I managed to PR a bit with my other cousins..and I am just amazed that all of us are all grown up.. The dinner started promptly at 8.30pm.. with the usual presentation of a photo montage..I know most of you will tell me that it is so cliche.. but i tot it is still a nice gesture for family, relatives, friends to look back at the past pictures and have a great time laughing at past hairstyles and looks.. :) The ambience was very cosy and the food was fantastic and the service excellent.. the waiters changed plates like after every course and wats unique is that the shark fins are like served on invidual big bowls and you can actually chew on shark fins.. so its really top quality.. the dishes are unique as well.. we have lobster and prawn salad as a cold dish and chocolate cake as dessert.. the only drawback was probably the wedding favors which is in the shape of an angel but well.. the angel.. do look mortified.. well. think its was a really memorable wedding dinner.. and oh yes.. when my cousin changed to her evening gown.. it was like disney deja vu.. i was still telling lilian about a yellow evening gown when my cousin wore a v-neck yellow evening gown.. I tot i saw belle.. hehe.. its amazing.. and it does help that she is a beauty...well.. they are going to New Zealand for honeymoon.. hope they enjoy themselves.. sigh.. i am still lost in the wedding bliss today i guess.. and the amazing part of it all.. they have been dating for 10 long years.. i think a lot of couples are ending their 10 year run this year.. :) Monday, March 13, 2006
Fantastic Friday In my haste to share with everyone my exciting Sunday.. I almost forgot to share my fantastic friday.. well.. at least the second part of it.. After facial.. i had a date with gynn.. we were on a nail date.. hehe.. our newest haunt.. polished divas.. which kelly highly and strongly recommended.. hmm.. so we finally went there after months of pre appointments.. On my first step inside the place.. well.. it was dark.. that was the word.. the room is dimly lighted but the service was excellent.. there is this guy.. who i assume must be the owner's bf asked if Iwanted any drinks.. i rem kelly saying that the drinks are free flow.. but other than orange juice.. they do not seem to have anythng else non alcoholic.. they do offer alcoholic drinks as well u know... so in the end i got a cup of.. iced water.. hmm.. then i waited a while before they brought me to a seat... an ogawa massage chair to be precise.. and then.. i was asked to select a vcd.. i decided to watch monster in law again.. and i was given a portable vcd player with earphones and the manicure and pedicure started.... gynn came a bit later and watched the myth.. she had orange juice and even disturbed the poor kitty, diva who was lying there peacefully.. we had chocolate spas.. with the chocolate smelling from our feet.. it just made us HUNGREEE....we stayed there till like near to nine before going to bugis village pasta mania for dinner.. the nail experience was very good... very pampered but very dark.. a good place to just watch movies and sleep.. ahhh blisss.... in any case if anyone is interested .. here the webby: http://www.polished-divas.com/ well, after dinner.. we went to this place.. cannot rem the name .. to take a look.. i like the feeling of the place and the steamboat place beside it just smells sooo yummi.. well.. after a short look around.. we went off to gynn's place.. hehe.. got a exclusive preview to her place... wun wan to disclose much here.. unless she doesnt mind.. but only one word to describe it all.. ITS WONDERFUL!!
